 Partial or complete Loss of hair is called alopecia.
Hair loss can be difficult to come to terms with.
Hair on the head is a defining part of your identity. If someone starts losing hair, it impacts to a identity and self-confidence of an individual which ultimately leads to depression.

Generally, Both Men and women lose hair thickness and amount as they age. Baldness could be sometimes related to aging, heredity & changes in hormone (Testosterone). Men, especially,  gets affected to Inherited or Pattern Baldness.

 One third to three quarters of scalp hair is lost due to Physical or emotional stress. This type of hair loss is called Telogen effluvium. A person loses handfuls of hairstrands while one does shampoo, comb or when run hands through  your hair.  Telogen effluvium is temporary but it can become chronic.  

  Major causes for this type of hair loss are 
Severe Emotional Stress
Crash Diets, Especially Protienless
Severe Infection Or High Fever
Major Surgery, Illness, Sudden Blood Loss.
Medications, including Birth Control Pills, Certain Antidepressants, Beta –blockers, Calciu, Channel Blockers,
Women after 30 may experience thinning of the hair that affects the entire scalp. Initially hair loss may be heavier and then gradually slow to stop. Causes for this type of telogen  effluvium is still unknown.
Other reasons of hair loss:
Certain infectious diseases (Syphilis)
Excessive shampooing and blow-drying
Hormone Changes
Thyroid Diseases

Radiation Therapy

Continual Hair Pulling or Scalp Rubbing


No treatment is needed for hair loss due to medication use, Radiation Therapy, Illness (esp. Fever) . Normally, Hair grows back after illness ends or once the therapy is finished.

Male-pattern baldness usually don’t need treatment because they are natural part of ageing. You can wear a wig if you have suffered from significant hair loss.
